Some Fun Stuff To Share

A few things that I have to catch up on/update everyone on:

1. I totally forgot to draw the winner for the copy of John Lawson’s Sorrow!! I swear, I don’t know what’s happened to my brain lately. But anyway…the winner is: Bart at Bart’s Bookshelf!! Woohoo! Congrats Bart, you’ll love it I’m sure. Do you want me to just send it to the email address that I emailed you on or is there another one you’d prefer? Let me know! OK…what would I do without Nymeth who has saved me TWICE today! Bart already bought this book, so I’m drawing another winner…and it’s Becky at Becky’s Book Reviews! Send me your email Becky and I’ll send the book to you! And Bart, to be fair, I’m sending you a Bookmooch point so you can get another book that you’d want!

2. I just updated the Dewey’s Book Challenge blog with a new post containing the winners of Nymeth’s first giveaways, a reminder about Jill’s mini-challenge, and the announcement of a new random giveaway. Head on over there to read all about it!

3. Finally, the next 24 hour read-a-thon has been announced!!! And it’s now aptly named, Dewey’s Read-A-Thon. I just know it will be fantastic and it’ll be very bittersweet doing this in her memory. I think I’m actually off of work that weekend too, so score!

4. Trish has posted an update on the proposed Book Blogger Retreat! I want to go so bad…anyone else thinking about going???

  1. Sweet, Chris! Glad you’re still into the book blogger retreat. As long as I’m not there alone, I’ll be happy. :-)

  2. Didn’t Bart tell us the other day on Twitter that he bought the book, though? :P

I’m so glad you have the Read-a-thon weekend off. It wouldn’t be quite the same without you. And I wish I could go to the Book Bloggers retreat!

  3. wow, sounds great ! I’ve had the privledge of meeting a few folks that i met on the computer and I’ve never been disappointed ! I can’t imagine a book retreat to be disappointing! Whenever a group of people have a common interest it can be nothing but fun!

  4. So much cool stuff! I hope you’re able to go to the retreat…what fun! No way I could afford to go…so I’m counting on you to keep us filled in so we can enjoy vicariously, okay?

  5. I should see if I can do the read-a-thon this year. I have never been able to participate before…

We have meet and greets in Canada. They are discussing another one for this year. I can never go, but they always seem to have fun and go book shopping!

  6. I left a message with Trish, no way can i get there this year, but I will pass the word on. I think it’s a great idea. congrats to Bart and Becky for winning your draw, Chris!

  7. I’ve left an award for you on my blog.

I enjoy your site. You’ve added several books to my TBR pile.

  8. Portland would be cool. I’ve got one year to go, then I’ll be an empty-nester and either I’ll be traveling or working to put him through school. Hmm, that’s quite a set of possibilities, isn’t it? :)

  9. Thanks anyway Chris, the bookmooch point will be well used :D

  10. Book Blogger Retreat — What a great idea! Unfortunately that would be all the way across the country for me, and it’s also the week before my family goes on vacation. But, it would be great if this could become an annual thing and be held in various parts of the country with different bloggers organizing/hosting.

  11. I would love to go to a retreat, but there is no way I could a) take the time off right now or b) afford to go all the way to Portland. If it was in the Midwest, I would have really considered it though. Maybe another year!

Glad to hear about the read-a-thon too. (Even though I can never seem to be available the weekends they are scheduled!)
